The chiropractic manipulative therapy that is offered at Natural Touch is a soft, gentle but yet effective manual manipulation applied to the area of the joint on the body to remove restrictions, improve joint mobility and restore normal biomechanical functions. Chiropractic Manipulation is performed on one or more regions of the body depending on

medical necessity.

Q: What exactly is Chiropractic and how does it help me?

A: Chiropractic medicine is defined as an alternative form of medicine that diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions by way of manual therapy and spinal manipulations. Chiropractic is also preventative medicine that helps people to maintain a healthy lifestyle free of pain (physical), stress (psychological), and medications (chemical). Many chiropractors today are regarded as primary care physicians that treats in a holistic point of view and will refer to other medical specialists if necessary. Chiropractic can help with the most common musculoskeletal conditions such as back and neck pain in addition to pain associated with chronic stress, muscular and postural imbalance.

Q: Does the chiropractic manipulation hurt and what does it feel like?

A: The chiropractic manipulative therapy that is offered at Natural Touch is a soft, gentle but yet effective manual manipulation applied to the area of the joint on the body to remove restrictions, improve joint mobility and restore normal biomechanical functions. We do not utilize the typical high velocity and high force thrust approach that is common with most chiropractic manipulations. In contrast, we apply the gentle low velocity and low force manipulations that may, to most people, feel like therapeutic stretches. Most of the time, it may cause an audible “pop” or “click,” much as you have experienced when you “crack” your knuckles and you may feel a sense of movement, but should be painless for most people. If this is your first time, it is very common to feel some soreness in the area treated, but it would generally go away in a few days.
