Irene Ma, DC
Dr. Irene Ma is a graduate of National University of Health Sciences where she earned the Doctorate of Chiropractic and the Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. She also holds a certification in Acupuncture and Physiotherapy at NUHS. Prior to attending NUHS she had attended University of Illinois at Champaign and Chicago as well as Loyola University for her undergraduate studies in Premedicine and Biology and earned the Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2004. Dr. Ma is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Illinois Chiropractic Society. She is a National Board certified chiropractic physician and is a licensed physician in the state of Illinois. Dr. Ma is fluent in her native language Chinese and in intermediate Spanish.
In addition to her chiropractic degree she gained much experience and training in the popular forms of Chinese therapy such as Gua Sha, Cupping, and Tui Na. Due to her Chinese heritage, Dr. Ma was introduced to and trained on these ancient methods of Chinese therapy at an early age. Her knowledge and experience had been broadened with many years of practice and under careful guidance working personally with therapists from China. Under their professional guidance and teachings, she have learned the effectiveness of these Chinese method of therapy that may be beneficial to many patients who seek the alternative and natural form of medicine.
